Brad and Chelsea had a backyard wedding at a private property down in Wandi. Whilst they had a beautiful outdoor wedding planned, it rained on the day so the ceremony had to be moved indoors and to make things worse, the heat made things humid and uncomfortable. Despite that, it didn’t dampen everyone’s spirits. In Perth we’re pretty blessed in that most weddings (I’ve shot anyway) go to plan and rarely do outdoor ceremonies have to be moved due to weather. It’s the biggest concern when planning a ceremony but I always tell my couples that if it rains… then you’ll just have a rainy wedding. The most important thing is that at the end of the day you end up married. Everything else is a blessing.
That’s true isn’t it? I know it’s wonderful to have the perfect weather and everything to run as you imagined, but I don’t think it should ruin your day or the enjoyment of your wedding. As for the photos, well it’s my job to try and make incredible images no matter the weather and I work really hard to deliver a consistent level of work at every wedding.
So it rained at Brad and Chelsea’s wedding and it kept raining when we wanted to shoot the bridal party photos… so no beautiful golden sun but the property did have an old train carriage and plenty of props for us to use so we went with it.
Big thanks goes to Geoffrey Liau for shooting this wedding with me.
