I’ve really really wanted to share this wedding for a while now because it’s a personally special one for me. I’ve known Jo since we were probably 13 or 14 back at Applecross SHS and since most my friends are now married, I hardly get to shoot their weddings and out of the 40 or so weddings I shoot a year, maybe 3 or 4 are those of couples whom are my personal friends.
The reason this wedding is dear to me is because back in 2011 when I had only JUST started my photography business, Jo was an early supporter of my work and told me if she got married she’d get me to shoot her wedding. Back then, the thought of actually doing what I do now (and full-time!) was a lofty dream so any vote of confidence from non-family members was a BIG deal. Four years later Jo follows through with her words and I got to shoot her big day! Luckily Ed liked my work too and when I finally got to know him properly over the past year, I found out what a great guy he is and can now count him among my friends.
No wonder he managed to snag Jo
Ed and Jo were married at St Michael the Archangel Chapel in West Leederville with their reception at Caversham House. These are two of my favourite places in Perth for wedding ceremonies and receptions. Caversham house is so on point with their venue it’s no wonder they’re consistently booked out season after season.
So here it is… four years in the making, and I get to share a little glimpse of the day with you.
Thanks to Adrian Tan for being my right hand man and my friend Yuko Batas for the amazing hair and makeup (as usual).
