Jon & Kym’s wedding was a simple intimate affair with perfect weather out at Sitella Winery in Swan Valley.
Simple yes, but boring it was not. Now these folks know how to party! So if you’re planning some wild-crazy dancing at your wedding then you won’t regret bringing us along for the ride. I shoot HEAPS of weddings and pre-weddings in Swan Valley and I can never get enough of the beauty of the place. It changes with the seasons and gives us endless surprises and variety. Oddly though, this is my first time shooting at Sittella’s and I have a few more coming up this season so if you’re considering a wedding there, it’s perfect for medium-sized receptions (less than 150 people) with great food.
This also marks a change in the way I’ll be blogging weddings from now on. In the past I spent a lot of time filling my blog with images of wedding decorations and details, trying to make my blog look like the millions of wedding blogs out there. Whilst I still think that’s an integral part of wedding coverage and all my couples get extensive photos of all their wedding details, now I want to showcase to the world what I feel is the most important part of a wedding… the moments.
Creative, beautiful photography and images that make me feel something when I look at them. Hopefully you do too.
I tell all my couples that when you look at your wedding photos decades down the track, you should feel like you’re right there reliving it again and again.
It’s true that memories fade but I believe they never die… They just lay dormant and one of the magic things about photography is that when done right, it brings those memories to life.
Three weeks ago I shot a wedding and at the end of the night the mother of the groom came up to me and said “Thank you for what you’re doing tonight… you’re making memories and after the night ends, all they’ve got are the photos”.
Everyone says “a picture is worth a thousand words” but I also believe that if they’re pictures of you, you get a thousand memories.
