Now we’re getting into the first of my autumn weddings and we start with Josh & Lin. I got to know these two pretty well before their wedding because we also spent an entire day and many hours planning and shooting their pre-wedding shoot which was handled by my pre-wedding company Chapter One (www.chapter1.com.au). We haven’t shared that shoot online yet but we certainly will! Their wedding was beautiful and actually stretched across three different venues. Lin got ready at Brookleigh Estate in Swan Valley, their ceremony was held at Sitella Winery and their reception was at the Crystal Swan.
My first time ever shooting at the Crystal Swan but you know the cool thing about that venue is that I have a personal history there. Back when I was a university student (in the year 2000) just after the boat was first built, I used to work as a chef there three or four nights a week. It helped pay my way through uni for about a year and I knew that place inside out. The funny thing is, it’s largely unchanged although the business has changed hands and I never thought I’d ever see the inside of that place again. So when Lin and Josh told me they were having their reception on board the boat I couldn’t believe it!
So here are a selection of my favourite images from the day… we had a bit of stress driving from place to place during the day but as you can see, it doesn’t matter as everything worked out just right. They laughed, cried and partied the night away. In twenty years time they’ll look at these photos and remember that this was exactly how it was like to be there (hopefully even better).
Here are some of the vendors who made the day amazing… some personal friends of mine too (and vendors at my wedding)… Kassy Wong whom I see so many times each wedding season as well as John from Belle Classic Limousines. Beautiful blooms were by the talented Letisha Rakich (Links below).
