Here’s another beautiful country wedding shot back in April. Pete and Jess were married on their family property down in Baldivis. My dear friend Maeline from Wedding Day Flair was responsible for all the styling and planning of their big day. What an amazing job she’d done! I’ve always been impressed with what Mae is capable of but the scale of her involvement at this wedding really showcased her talents. I met Mae a few short years ago when we were trying to break into the wedding industry and we worked on a couple of styled shoots that were published by major wedding blogs and it was an integral part of getting us to where we are today.
For future brides looking for a beautiful farm wedding venue, Jess’ mum Michelle is planning to open it up as a wedding and function venue in the near future! Pete & Jess’ wedding was a trial to see how the property handles functions and from what I experienced, it went off without a hitch so expect to see a lot more weddings coming from this place in future. If you’re interested drop us a line and I’ll happily put you in touch with Michelle (whether or not you want me as your photographer!).
Pete and Jess had an unplugged wedding which is quite rare. I’ve only shot two of these but it was so refreshing to look down the aisle and at all the guests to see no phones or cameras up during the ceremony! The way I imagine weddings used to be before smartphones and I do think that this results in a much better ceremony where all guests are just enjoying the moments for what they are.
Another thing worth a mention was some brilliant concoction by the DJ (Pulse DJ Productions) during the night. He pulls out a banner and announces probably the most entertaining and involving dance floor game I’ve ever seen!
“Cheezy dance moves”…
it was literally everything you’d expect it to be and the best thing about this game is you don’t need to know how to dance to get stuck into it, just 100% commitment and you’d be awesome. The winners were judged by Pete and Jess and won a bottle of wine for their efforts.
Thanks to Adrian for shooting with me.
Enjoy some of my favourite images from the day!
