Tommy and Debbie held both their ceremony and reception at Belvoir Homestead in the Swan Valley. These two are also close personal friends of my sister San San who plays an integral part in Jason Tey Photography helping me edit and finish images to deliver to our clients. It’s great when I have a personal connection to clients as an important part of making the images I do is reliant on trust so when it’s a family friend there is already common ground for me to build off. Tommy and Deb are cafe proprietors and run a busy cafe in the CBD called Ivy League. If you’re in the west side of the city on Hay street, go check them out! We had our first meeting at the cafe and usually at this first meeting I’m trying to figure out the personalities of my couples and Deb says “a lot of wedding photos are boring… we want something fun!“. Then they started talking about fight scenes where someone punches the ground and everyone flys up (must be something from Japanese anime) which brought to mind this idea I’ve seen in the past where you get the bridal party to fight each other. That was back in January last year so come their wedding day, whilst fighting the rapidly setting sun, we managed to pull off one image with the girls smashing the boys and it worked out better than I imagined!
You can see THAT photo, along with other favourites from their wedding below. Enjoy!
